SMTC 303 - THE TURKANA TRUCK

Day 1: Nairobi – Lake Nakuru
After breakfast, leave your Hotel and drive via Lake Bogoria with picnic lunch before you drive to Lake Baringo camp site.

Day 2: Lake Baringo – Maralal – South Horr
After breakfast leave Baringo for Maralal with your picnic lunch enroute. Take a short walk in this beautiful town before proceeding via Losiolo which is on the edge of the Great Rift Valley to Baragoi for dinner and overnight stay at South Horr campsite.

Day 3: South Horr – Lake Turkana
Depart from the campsite after breakfast to Lake Turkana to arrive at El – Molo campsite for lunch, which is on the shores of Lake Turkana. Rest of the day is spent at leisure by the Jade Sea. Dinner and over night stay in the camp.

Day 4: Lake Turkana
Visit the El Molo village after breakfast and get back to the campsite for lunch. Rest in the afternoon and go for fishing or swimming if crocodiles permit. Meals and overnight in the camp.

Day 5: Turkana – Maralal
Leave Lake Turkana for Maralal with a picnic lunch en route. Dinner and overnight in Maralal.

Day 6: Maralal
Drive to Suguta Valley observation point and later descend to the bottom of the valley where you have to trek with Samburu guides to visit their villages and the surrounding environs (4-5 hrs) and return to the camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Maralal – Samburu
After breakfast drive to Samburu National Reserve in the northern side of Mount Kenya. Arrive at the camp and thereafter proceed on an evening game drive. Meals and overnight stay at the camp.

Day 8: Samburu
Full day spent in Samburu viewing animals like Elephant, Giraffe, Zebra, Lion, Leopard, Gerenuk, Oryx and others plus numerous bird species. Overnight in the camp.

Day 9: Samburu – Nairobi
After early morning game drive leave Samburu via Mt Kenya to arrive in Nairobi in the evening.

SMTC 305 - HEMMINGWAY TRAIL

DAY  1: NAIROBI/MASAI MARA
0730 hours:  Leave Nairobi via the Great Valley for Masai Mara Game Reserve. Lunch en route.  After lunch proceed for a game drive in search of black maned lion, elephants, leopard and cheetah, buffalo and other plains game. Dinner and overnight at Campsite.

DAY 2 and DAY 3: MASAI MARA
Game drives before and after breakfast and after lunch. Meals at the campsite or packed lunch as will be agreed by the guides.

DAY 4: MASAI MARA/LAKE NAKURU (Flamingoes)
0830 hours:  After breakfast leave Masai Mara for Lake Nakuru National Park.  Lunch en route.  On arrival proceed for a game drive round Lake Nakuru to view Flamingoes, water buck, buffaloes etc.  The flamingoes at Lake Nakuru are often described as the "WORLDS GREATEST BIRD SPECTACLE".  After bird and game viewing continue to Campsite for dinner and overnight.

DAY  5: LAKE NAKURU/ NAIROBI/AMBOSELI
After a leisurely breakfast leave for Nairobi, stopping at the Great Rift Valley for a panoramic view, and continue to Amboseli. Lunch in Nairobi.

16 hours:Proceed for a game drive in search of cheetah, rhinos, elephants, and also plenty of plains game, with the Majestic Mount Kilimanjaro in the back ground.  Dinner and overnight at Campsite.

DAY 6:  AMBOSELI
0630 hours:Proceed for an early morning pre-breakfast game drive.  Return to the Campsite for breakfast.

1030 hours:After breakfast proceed for a further game drive.  Lunch at the Campsite.  After lunch a short siesta or relax by the swimming pool.

1600 hours:A further game drive.  Dinner and overnight at the Campsite.

DAY  7: AMBOSELI/TSAVO WEST
0800 hours:After breakfast leave Amboseli Game Reserve for Tsavo West National Park, taking picnic lunch en route.

1500 hours:A further game drive.  Dinner and overnight at the Campsite.

DAY  8: TSAVO WEST/TSAVO EAST
0800 hours:After breakfast proceed for a further game drive and also a visit to the Mzima Springs where hippos and varied fish are seen swimming in the clear waters.  Lunch at the Campsite.

1400 hours:After lunch, leave for Tsavo East, arriving in time for dinner and overnight at the Campsite.

DAY 9: TSAVO EAST/NAIROBI
0800 hours:After breakfast proceed for a game drive.

1400 hours:Leave just before lunch for Nairobi and partake of your lunch en route.
